ANDREW INGRAM FROM FORFAR FACES SERIOUS CHARGES OVER STALKING TWO 13-YEAR-OLDS IN ANGUS
A 61-year-old man from Forfar, Angus, is set to stand trial after being accused of engaging in a disturbing pattern of stalking two young girls, both aged 13, as they traveled to and from school. The allegations detail a series of unsettling encounters that allegedly took place over nearly four months, involving repeated visits to the area where the girls commute, as well as invasive personal questions and inappropriate physical contact.Andrew Ingram, who resides at Thornton Park in Forfar, appeared before Sheriff Derek Reekie at the town’s sheriff court to face the charges. He entered a plea of not guilty to both counts. The first charge accuses Ingram of repeatedly visiting the vicinity of a bus stop where one of the girls disembarks, waiting for her arrival, and then engaging her in conversation. Prosecutors allege that during these encounters, Ingram asked personal questions, asked to walk with her, and inappropriately touched her by putting his arm around her shoulder and arm. It is also claimed that he made comments about her appearance and inquired about her weekend activities.
The second charge involves a similar pattern of conduct directed at a different 13-year-old girl. It is alleged that Ingram asked her for personal details, repeatedly touched her arm, and expressed that he would miss her during the upcoming school Christmas holidays. Furthermore, he allegedly asked her to meet him during the holidays and offered to walk her home, actions that raise serious concerns about his intentions.
In response to these allegations, Sheriff Reekie imposed strict bail conditions on Ingram. He was prohibited from approaching or contacting the two girls involved, as well as any other individuals under the age of 16 unless under direct supervision by an adult over 21 or if the contact was accidental and unavoidable. The trial date has been scheduled for May 28, during which the court will determine the outcome of these serious charges.
