Andrew Hocking, a 57-year-old man from the Copthorne area, has been handed a substantial prison sentence of 15 years following his conviction on multiple charges related to the sexual abuse of young girls spanning over forty years.

The case was heard at Lewes Crown Court, where prosecutors detailed a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior that persisted from the 1970s through to the 1980s, involving victims who were particularly vulnerable at the time.

Throughout the trial, it was revealed that Hocking engaged in numerous acts of child sexual assault, with some of the offences being of a historic nature, dating back several decades.
