JEALOUS TEENAGER WHO STABBED GIRLFRIEND 60 TIMES JAILED FOR LIFE
Andrew Hall, an 18-year-old former youth footballer at Stoke City, admitted to fatally stabbing his 15-year-old girlfriend Megan-Leigh Peat.He was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 10 years, after the brutal attack in which he inflicted 60 stab wounds to her head, neck, and upper chest using two different knives.
The incident took place at approximately 1:30 am in a kitchen at a friend's house in Ampthill, following disputes driven by Hall's jealousy.
Megan had previously described Hall as a caring and loving individual, but during the attack, he used two knives.
In court, Judge Richard Foster highlighted the tragic loss of Megan’s potential future, stating that she would never experience achievements such as exam success, higher education, or milestone moments like being a bridesmaid or celebrating her 18th birthday, because her life was taken at just 15.
Prosecutor Iain Wicks noted that Hall was a talented footballer on the verge of turning professional.
Court proceedings revealed that on the night of the tragedy, Hall and Megan had been drinking with friends.
Issues of jealousy were recurrent in their relationship.
Megan initially left a pub in Flitwick to go home but later decided to meet Hall again at a local pub in Ampthill, despite his reluctance to talk that evening.
Hall was later observed covered in blood at the pub, exclaiming, ‘I think I just killed my girlfriend, oh my god, I love her so much, what have I done?’ Megan’s body was discovered in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds.
Her family mourned her, describing her as a lively, kind girl with her entire future ahead of her.
Hall was charged with her murder and confessed to the crime, resulting in his life sentence.
