ANDREW FOX CAUGHT IN HALESOWEN POLICE STING TRYING TO MEET 13-YEAR-OLD BOY

In a disturbing incident that unfolded in Halesowen, police successfully apprehended Andrew Fox, a 61-year-old man, who was attempting to meet what he believed to be a 13-year-old boy. The operation was part of a targeted sting designed to catch individuals seeking to engage in illegal activities with minors. Fox’s actions and subsequent arrest have once again brought to light serious concerns about child safety and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat online grooming and exploitation.

According to reports, Fox claimed his intentions were to act as a mentor and a father figure to the young individual, a justification that has been widely condemned as a sickening attempt to rationalize predatory behavior. The case is particularly troubling given Fox’s criminal history, which dates back to the 1990s and early 2000s. In those earlier incidents, he was found to have committed sexual offences against two other boys. One of these victims was subjected to inappropriate touching, while the other was incited into sexual activity at a residence in Oldbury. These past offences had remained hidden until recent disclosures brought them back into the spotlight.

It was in 2017 that police began investigating Fox’s previous crimes after one of his victims, now an adult, came forward to report the abuse. This disclosure prompted authorities to call Fox in for a voluntary interview, during which he denied any wrongdoing. Despite his denials, law enforcement officials collected sufficient evidence to proceed with prosecution. Fox’s criminal record and the new evidence led to his conviction and sentencing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on April 2. He received a six-year prison sentence for the offences against the first boy and an additional one-year sentence for the second. Furthermore, Fox has been ordered to register as a sex offender for life, a measure aimed at protecting the community from potential future harm.

The case was further strengthened by additional victim disclosures, which played a crucial role in reinforcing the police’s case against him. Throughout the proceedings, Fox continued to deny the allegations, claiming either that he could not remember the incidents or that the accusations were false. Law enforcement officials emphasized the importance of encouraging victims and witnesses to come forward, highlighting the resources available for support and justice.
