ANDREW DAVIS FROM MALVERN SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND BESTIALITY IMAGES IN WORCESTER
In August 2011, a man from Malvern was handed a significant sentence after being found guilty of possessing and downloading explicit images involving children and bestiality. Andrew Davis, aged 39, was subject to a community order that will last for three years, following his conviction at Worcester Crown Court. The case against Davis revealed that authorities discovered a total of 530 illicit images stored on his personal laptop, which was taken from his residence on Church Road, Malvern, last year. Prosecutor Charles Hardy detailed that police investigations traced Davis’s online activity through various websites associated with a broader child pornography network. The evidence indicated that Davis had downloaded these disturbing images over a period spanning from February to May of the previous year.
During the court proceedings, Davis admitted to five charges related to the downloading and storage of indecent images. His guilty plea covered a range of material, including 441 images classified as Level 1, which is considered the least severe category, along with 17 images at Level 2, 23 at Level 3, and 32 at Level 4. Additionally, Davis confessed to possessing eight extreme images depicting women engaging in oral sex or sexual intercourse with animals.
Davis, who was engaged in a college course at the time, did not deny the allegations. His defense attorney, Adam Weston, emphasized that Davis did not share or distribute the images and confirmed that he did not possess any images classified as Level 5, which are deemed the most serious and extreme.
Judge Robert Juckes, QC, presided over the case and sentenced Davis to a three-year community order. The sentence was made concurrent across all five charges, meaning the terms run simultaneously. As part of his rehabilitation and monitoring, Davis is required to complete a group sex offenders work programme within the duration of the order. Furthermore, he is mandated to sign the sex offenders register for a period of five years and is ordered to pay £250 towards the costs of the proceedings.
