CATHOLIC SCHOOL TEACHER ON CHILD PORN CHARGES

A TEACHER at a leading Catholic secondary school has appeared in court this morning charged with a series of child porn offences.

Andrew Daley, a teacher at St Aelreds Technology College in Newton-le-Willows, faced 17 counts of making indecent photographs of children.

The 43-year-old from Bolton Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, appeared at Wigan Magistrates' Court this morning (Tuesday).

Daley did not enter a plea and was released on conditional bail.

He is set to face a crown court trial.

He has been suspended from his post at St Aelreds Catholic Technology College following the allegations.
