ANDREAS KOURSARYS CAUGHT IN HAMILTON UP SKIRT SCANDAL AT STARBUCKS

A 74-year-old man named Andreas Koursarys has been taken into custody following a disturbing incident at a Starbucks located in Hamilton. The incident involved the elderly man secretly capturing images of schoolgirls using a mobile device concealed in his sock.

According to police reports and court proceedings, Koursarys was observed on CCTV moving deliberately closer to a group of schoolgirls during their lunch break, with the apparent intent of taking inappropriate photographs. The victims, girls aged between 13 and 16, were unaware of his actions at the time. The footage clearly showed Koursarys positioning himself in a manner that allowed him to covertly film the girls, using a mobile phone hidden inside his sock.

During his remand hearing at Hamilton Sheriff Court, it was disclosed that Koursarys had a prior conviction for a nearly identical offence, raising concerns about his pattern of behavior. Sheriff John Speir indicated that he was inclined to release Koursarys under a restriction of liberty order, but the court was informed that his son had revoked an earlier offer for him to reside with him. Additionally, Koursarys was facing difficulties in securing alternative accommodation, which influenced the court’s decision to remand him into custody temporarily.

The court heard that Koursarys had been using a sock to hide his mobile phone, which he employed to facilitate his filming activities during the months of August and September of the previous year. Police executed a search warrant at his residence, where they recovered multiple mobile phones, an iPad, and socks with holes cut into them—likely used to conceal the devices. Despite the extensive search, no images of the girls were recovered or identified from the devices.

Koursarys admitted during police interviews that he had deleted images after viewing them, which complicates the investigation. His history of similar offences and the current allegations prompted the court to consider remanding him to allow time for finding suitable accommodation, with the possibility of imposing a restriction of liberty order.

The incident took place at a Starbucks in Hamilton, and the coffee chain declined to comment on the matter. The case continues to be investigated, and authorities remain vigilant about preventing such invasive acts in public spaces.
