HUSBAND CLEARED OF GISBURN WIFE MURDER BID
A man named Allan Murgatroyd, aged 61 from Barrowford, was involved in a serious incident at the Todber Caravan Park in Gisburn.He was originally accused of attempting to murder his estranged wife with a knife during the attack.
However, the Crown Court jury cleared him of the charge of trying to murder her.
He was also found not guilty of an alternative charge of wounding her with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Despite this, the jury convicted him of a lesser offence of unlawfully wounding his former partner Linda.
The court officials indicated that Murgatroyd faces a substantial prison sentence when he returns to court next month.
