BRISTOL SCHOOL HEADTEACHER JAILED FOR LONG-TERM CHILD ABUSE
The ex-headteacher of Colston’s Girls’ School, Alistair Perry, was sentenced to 16 months behind bars and required to register as a sex offender for ten years.He faced accusations of abusing a girl in his care, grooming her over more than a decade, and then raping and sexually assaulting her.
The court was informed that the abuse took place from 2000 until the girl reached 32 years of age.
Perry initially denied any allegations but later pleaded guilty to five counts involving the possession of child abuse images and videos, as well as other sexual offenses.
Judge Michael Vere-Hodge remarked that Perry was a manipulative predator with a high self-opinion.
The victim’s impact statement detailed lifelong trauma, including nightmares and intense feelings of shame.
