EAST LONDON MAN SENTENCED FOR BRUTAL RAPE IN CANNING TOWN

A married man identified as Romanian Alexandru Hristu, aged 43, was sentenced to eight years in jail for a brutal sexual assault.

He invited a woman to his bedroom in East London for a movie and subsequently attacked her drunkenly.

During the assault, he attempted to kiss her, then grabbed her hands and held them above her head despite her resistance.

The victim made it clear she did not want any sexual contact, but Hristu slapped her, pulled down her leggings, and raped her.

The court found him guilty and he was sentenced to eight years in prison.
