ALEXANDRE SANTOS SHOCKS BLAIRGOWRIE WITH SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING MINORS

Alexandre Manuel Santos, aged 26 and residing on Blackthorn Place in Blairgowrie, has been at the center of a disturbing case involving the exploitation of young girls. The incident came to light after Santos was found to have sent explicit images of his genitals to a 12-year-old girl, a serious offense that raised alarm within the local community.

On June 28, 2023, law enforcement authorities in Blairgowrie took Santos into custody following allegations that he had engaged in inappropriate communication with a minor. The charges specifically related to the offense classified under SOSA S23, which pertains to causing a young child to view sexual images. According to reports, Santos had initially contacted the young girl through social media, and after establishing communication, he proceeded to send her explicit photographs of himself.

The young girl’s mother acted swiftly upon discovering the messages. Concerned for her child's safety, she immediately contacted the police, prompting an investigation into Santos’s activities. As part of the investigation, a medical examination was scheduled for Santos to determine if there was any physical evidence supporting the allegations. However, Santos failed to attend the medical appointments on two separate occasions, which hindered the progress of the case.

Despite the serious nature of the allegations and the initial arrest, the case faced setbacks. By March 2024, the Procurator Fiscal, after reviewing the evidence and the failed medical examinations, decided to drop the charges due to what was deemed insufficient evidence to proceed with prosecution. Further troubling developments emerged as authorities revealed that Santos had allegedly used social networking platforms, specifically Snapchat, to contact and add other young girls under the age of 13. These new allegations suggest a pattern of predatory behavior, raising fears about the safety of minors in Blairgowrie and the surrounding areas.
