ALEXANDER KORODI'S HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IN PLUMSTEAD AND KENT REVEALED
In a chilling case that has shocked the community, Alexander Korodi, a 65-year-old man from Griffin Road, Plumstead, has been convicted and sentenced for a prolonged period of child abuse spanning over two decades. The heinous acts committed by Korodi involved multiple young victims and have been described by Judge Alan Greenwood as some of the most severe cases of child abuse he has ever encountered in his judicial career.Korodi's pattern of depravity began in 1972 when he first targeted a young girl, who was only seven years old at the time. The victim recounted that their initial meeting was marked by an unsettling gesture, as Korodi greeted her with a French kiss, setting a disturbing tone for the abuse that would follow. Over the years, his predatory behavior escalated, and he continued to exploit her innocence for several years.
In 1976, after relocating from Leicestershire to Folkestone, Kent, Korodi began grooming a nine-year-old girl. His sinister actions included touching her under her nightclothes while she slept. The abuse intensified, and by the time she was 11, Korodi had raped her on the floor of his living room. His criminal activities extended to his previous residence in South Luffenham, Leicestershire, where he assaulted another victim in his builders van. The abuse persisted until she was 16, after which the two maintained a sexual relationship that lasted until she reached 24 years of age.
The final victim, a girl who was only three years old when Korodi began abusing her in 1980, endured his attacks until she was 12. His pattern of exploitation was relentless and deeply disturbing, involving repeated assaults over many years.
Following a thorough investigation, Korodi was charged with a total of 19 counts of indecent assault, five counts of rape, and one count of buggery, all committed between January 1972 and September 1991. His crimes spanned across different locations, including Plumstead, Folkestone, and South Luffenham, highlighting a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.
On August 8, at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Korodi was found guilty on all counts and subsequently sentenced to 11 years in prison. The court's decision underscores the severity of his offenses and the lasting impact on his victims, who endured unimaginable suffering at his hands.
