MOSES AGHEDO'S SHOCKING RELEASE NEAR PLUMSTEAD AFTER SIX YEARS IN JAIL

In a distressing development that has left the local community in turmoil, Moses Aghedo, a convicted sex offender from Plumstead, is set to be released from prison and return to an address close to where his victims reside. Aghedo, now 22 years old, was only 16 when he committed heinous acts against two 14-year-old girls, crimes that have scarred the victims and their families deeply.

On April 2, 2008, Aghedo forcibly dragged one of his victims into a car park near Plumstead High Street. There, he subjected her to two separate acts of sexual assault, during which he also violently banged her head against a skip. The assault lasted for approximately two hours, leaving the young girl with severe internal injuries and a sexually transmitted disease. The trauma inflicted on her has had lifelong repercussions, including hearing voices in her head, multiple suicide attempts, and ongoing emotional distress. She has openly expressed her devastation, stating, "I feel like I have been torn in half. My heart has been ripped. I feel broken. He has ruined my insides. I bleed every single day. He turned me mad. I haven’t slept a whole night in six years."

Further compounding her suffering, she revealed that she feels effectively imprisoned in areas such as Mottingham, Eltham, and Thamesmead, as Aghedo is legally banned from visiting these locations. Her ordeal is a stark reminder of the lasting impact of such crimes and the ongoing pain experienced by victims.

Investigations by Greenwich police linked Aghedo to the assault through forensic evidence collected at the scene. The evidence connected him not only to the attack on the girl in the car park but also to another assault on a 14-year-old girl near Plumstead Common, which occurred two months earlier. These crimes have left a trail of trauma and fear in the community, with families of the victims reporting receiving death threats and being subjected to public attacks in the aftermath.

A relative of one of the victims expressed their outrage, stating, "It is wrong that he should be able to go back to the same area where he raped a 14-year-old girl. We are trying to change the decision that he is allowed to go back to the area where he committed the crimes. This man is a serious, serious predator. These girls need to know justice will be done."

Eltham MP Clive Efford, deeply moved by the stories of the victims, has publicly supported their efforts to oppose Aghedo’s release. Efford, who reportedly "wept" upon hearing their accounts, intends to bring the matter before Parliament, emphasizing the potential threat Aghedo’s presence poses to the community and the victims’ ongoing safety. He stated, "It is wrong this person should be released and able to return to an area where he could come across his victims. There has to be some limitation on the threat he can pose to their future well-being. We cannot assume he would commit another crime, but certainly his presence has a huge impact on the quality of their lives."

Aghedo was convicted at Inner London Crown Court on December 12, 2008, and sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of three counts of rape. However, he has served only half of his sentence and is now scheduled for release. A spokesperson from the Probation Service explained that offenders on licence are subject to strict conditions, including exclusion zones and bans on contacting certain individuals, and can be recalled to prison if they breach these conditions. Despite these measures, the community remains deeply concerned about the potential risks associated with Aghedo’s return to Plumstead and the surrounding areas.
