MORPETH MAN JAILED FOR GROOMING AND EXPLOITING GIRL ONLINE
A predator is currently serving time after grooming a 14-year-old girl online and then meeting her outside her school.Alexander Breslin, aged 22, sent the young girl sexually explicit messages, which included a disturbing video of himself performing a sex act, and recorded her engaging in sexual activities via FaceTime.
During the courtroom proceedings, it was revealed that Breslin discussed BDSM with the victim prior to arranging to meet her outside her school.
The court heard that the pair "hugged and kissed" during the meeting before Breslin returned home to Northumberland.
His inappropriate behavior was exposed when the girl confided in her cousins, leading to her mother discovering the messages.
The victim described feeling "isolated" and becoming "a very anxious person" following these events.
Breslin pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including meeting a child following sexual grooming, engaging in sexual activity with a child, causing a child to watch an image of sexual activity, and possessing indecent images of a child.
He was sentenced to 33 months in prison and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for 10 years.
Additionally, Breslin was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.
Prosecutor Sue Hirst explained that the grooming began on an online chat forum, where both had profiles with their actual ages listed.
As the conversations progressed, Breslin transitioned from polite chat to sexual communication and asked the girl if she would "date" him.
Despite her parents knowing she was talking to an older man, they were unaware of the sexual contact, which she secretly engaged in via her iPod.
The girl eventually disclosed meeting Breslin, and her mother found the sexually explicit videos and messages on her phone and iPod, prompting police involvement and Breslin's arrest.
