VICTIM OF SICK RAPIST SAYS HE IS A MONSTER BUT HE TELLS JUDGE 'I'M A DECENT MAN'
A cruel and violent rapist told a judge “I’m a decent man” as he was jailed for 16 years for his sick crimes.
Aleksejs Baskakovs, 56, was found guilty of a series of offences at Bradford Crown Court in October.
One survivor, who must not be identified for legal reasons, suffered flashbacks and "traumatic memories." Another complainant described him as “a monster” and felt mentally trapped.
Judge Ahmed Nadim said the evidence showed Baskakovs’ pattern of behaviour was driven by a need to dominate and control, with any consent claimed not being freely given but forced through fear.
Baskakovs will serve at least two-thirds of his sentence and must register as a sex offender for life.
During the hearing via video link, Baskakovs claimed he was slandered and maintained his innocence, stating: “I would like to say I’m not guilty of any of what you have said.
I’m a decent man.”
