ALBERTO TAGLIANETTI FROM ANDOVER JAILED FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE IN WINCHESTER
In a case that has shocked the local community, Alberto Taglianetti, a 36-year-old man from Constable Court in Andover, has been sentenced to prison following his conviction for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl from Winchester. The incident, which took place over several months, culminated in Taglianetti being found guilty of multiple charges related to child sexual abuse.During the trial at Winchester Crown Court, it was revealed that Taglianetti had engaged in inappropriate and illegal sexual activities with the young girl. Despite his plea of not guilty to seven counts, the court found him guilty of four charges of engaging in sexual activity with a child and two additional charges of inciting or causing a child to participate in sexual acts. The court heard that one particularly disturbing incident occurred in September 2007, when the girl was sexually abused by Taglianetti while he was volunteering to babysit her. This occurred after her mother had been rushed to the hospital to be with her father, who was gravely ill and later died.
Mr. Recorder Nigel Pascoe QC described the abuse as “breathtakingly arrogant,” highlighting the severity and audacity of Taglianetti’s actions. The judge’s comments underscored the gravity of the crimes committed against the vulnerable young girl.
As a result of his conviction, Taglianetti was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. He is expected to serve half of that sentence before being released on licence. Additionally, he will be registered on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the community from further harm. The case has left many in Andover and Winchester deeply concerned about the safety of children and the importance of vigilance in safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
