GARDENSTOWN MAN CAUGHT OFFERING TO PAY WOMAN TO HAVE SEX WITH A DOG
Albert Watt, aged 65, appeared before Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where he admitted to downloading and owning a substantial collection of images and videos depicting child abuse.Authorities also found him in possession of extreme pornography involving animals, and discovered messages on WhatsApp in which Watt attempted to pay a woman to have sex with a dog.
Described as not fully acknowledging his actions, Watt attributed his behavior to heavy drinking at the time.
Despite engaging in this activity over three years, he claimed it would “never cross his mind” to do so when sober.
‘Disturbing’ WhatsApp content uncovered On March 7 of the previous year, police executed a search warrant at Watt’s residence, retrieving three iPhones for examination.
They uncovered videos of extreme pornography stored on Watt’s WhatsApp, including footage of adults involving sexual acts with a dog.
Messages from Watt instructed a woman to engage in sex with a dog as part of a payment arrangement.
Authorities found over 8,000 images and videos containing material of child abuse, with nearly half categorized as the most severe Category A.
The total duration of these videos was 8 hours and 32 minutes, and more than a hundred images and videos depicted extreme sexual content.
Watt pleaded guilty to one charge of downloading child abuse material and another of possessing such images.
He also admitted to possessing images and videos of adults engaging in sexual acts with animals.
‘He has taken responsibility’ His solicitor stated that Watt believed he would never act on such impulses when sober, and that he would delete such material once intoxicated.
She argued that Watt had shown accountability and understands the harm inflicted upon children and animals.
Sheriff McCall acknowledged the seriousness of the offences spanning three years but decided against imprisonment, instead imposing a community payback order with two years of supervision and requiring him to participate in a sex offenders program.
Additionally, Watt was made to register as a sex offender for two years.
