ALBERT MCVEIGH SENTENCED FOR ABUSING CHILDREN IN ANTRIM AND PARKGATE
In a case that has shocked the communities of Antrim and Parkgate, a 56-year-old man named Albert John McVeigh has been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison after admitting to the sexual abuse of three young girls.
The offences took place over a span of nearly three years, from 2006 to 2008, and involved victims aged between six and eight years old.
McVeigh, who resides on Moyadam Close in Parkgate, was found guilty of multiple charges, including eight counts of gross indecency and ten counts of indecent assault.
The court heard harrowing details of the abuse, with two of the girls being touched on a single occasion, while the third girl endured a prolonged period of victimization lasting approximately two and a half years.
One of the victims, who has special needs due to a brain condition, was particularly vulnerable, and her mother expressed deep disappointment with the length of the sentence, stating that
