ALAN WILSON FROM KENNOWAY CAUGHT IN SHOCKING INCIDENT NEAR ST ANDREWS SCHOOLCHILDREN
In April 2019, a disturbing incident occurred in the town of St Andrews that drew significant public and legal attention.A pensioner named Alan Wilson, who resides on Kenmount Drive in Kennoway, was involved in an alarming act that took place in broad daylight, near a school and a busy shopping area.
According to reports, Wilson was seen by two women, one of whom was an employee working at a shop on Bell Street, engaging in a highly inappropriate and explicit act inside his van.
The incident happened around 12:30 pm on March 14, when the streets were bustling with pedestrians, including high school students on their lunch break.
The van was parked directly opposite the shop, and the witness described her shock upon observing Wilson’s behavior.
She noticed that Wilson, aged 68, was sitting in his vehicle with a newspaper in his left hand.
However, instead of reading, he appeared to be looking around nervously, with his gaze shifting out of the window.
The woman observed that the newspaper was not being read in a typical manner; instead, it was shaking and moving up and down rapidly, which she interpreted as a sign of his inappropriate activity.
Her account detailed that Wilson’s right hand was underneath the paper, engaged in a sexual act, which she found deeply disturbing and shocking.
The witness, feeling alarmed and disturbed by what she had seen, promptly contacted the police to report the incident.
The authorities responded quickly, and Wilson was subsequently arrested.
During the police proceedings, Wilson was silent and did not respond to the charges brought against him.
He was later charged with conducting himself in a disorderly manner, placing his hand on his private parts, and breaching the peace.
Wilson, who is known to reside in Kennoway, was brought before Dundee Sheriff Court.
The court heard the details of the incident and Wilson’s subsequent arrest.
The prosecution’s case was presented by Procurator Fiscal Depute Lora Apostolova, who described the witness’s account and the shock experienced by her upon witnessing the act.
In court, Wilson pleaded guilty to the charges.
The sheriff, Tom Hughes, decided to defer sentencing until May 10, to allow for the preparation of criminal justice and social work reports, as well as an assessment for a restriction of liberty order.
Meanwhile, Wilson was placed on the sex offenders’ register, and his bail was continued, allowing him to remain free until his next court appearance.
