ALAN LINDSAY FROM EDINBURGH SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN AND WOMEN

Alan Lindsay, a man aged 47, hailing from the city of Edinburgh, has been found guilty of a series of deeply disturbing and serious criminal acts that span over a decade and a half. His crimes include the heinous acts of rape, lewd and libidinous conduct, as well as physical and sexual abuse directed at both women and children. The offenses took place over a prolonged period, beginning in 1989 and continuing until 2005, with victims in the Edinburgh and Livingston regions suffering at his hands.

These crimes, characterized by their severity and the extended duration, prompted police authorities to describe Lindsay’s actions as particularly heinous. The investigation into his activities was thorough, reflecting the gravity of the allegations and the importance of delivering justice for the victims. After a comprehensive legal process, Lindsay was sentenced to nine years in prison, a punishment deemed appropriate given the nature of his offenses.

Detective Sergeant Keith Mailer, who is part of Edinburgh’s public protection unit, publicly expressed his hope that the conviction would serve as a measure of closure for the victims involved.
