LLANDEILO MAN JAILED FOR STALKING AND ASSAULTING EX-PARTNER
A domestic abuser named Alan Griffiths from Pontypridd was convicted of tormenting his ex-partner through unwanted messages and calls, showing up near her home, and posting about her on social media.
The court heard that Griffiths, who had a history of previous convictions including an assault against the same victim, was arrested in February on suspicion of stalking and bail conditions prohibited him from contacting her.
Despite this, Griffiths continued to harass her, including following her in her car, sending threatening messages, and posting inflammatory content online.
He was later found guilty of stalking and common assault at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on July 4.
Griffiths, aged 46, was sentenced to 16 months in jail, with an additional eight months activated from his suspended sentence.
He was also given an indefinite restraining order preventing him from contacting or posting online about the victim and banning him from entering Llandeilo for five years.
The court noted that whether he goes through Llandeilo after the five years, he is still prohibited from contacting the victim.
