AKEEL BAVINGTON-ALLEN OF BRADFORD SENTENCED FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY AND THREATS
Akeel Bavington-Allen, born around 2003 and formerly residing in Great Horton, Bradford, West Yorkshire, was convicted in 2022 of multiple offences including animal cruelty.His misconduct was uncovered after the family’s chicken was found dead; CCTV footage revealed the teenager chasing animals with a garden fork and stabbing one of the chickens multiple times.
When questioned, Bavington-Allen showed no remorse, stating he didn’t feel anything at the time.
Additionally, his mobile phone contained a video showing him stabbing the family cat, which was posted on Snapchat.
It remains unclear whether the cat survived.
Bavington-Allen’s behaviour reportedly included a fascination with knives, gang culture, and drill music.
In April 2021, he was found with a knife while attending Shipley College.
He admitted to having a ‘shank’ on him, claiming he carried the knife due to an assault by a group from Leeds.
It was also revealed that he had stopped taking his ADHD medication and had poured bleach into the family toothpaste tube at his home.
Fortunately, the corrosive substance was discovered before causing harm.
While detained at HMP Doncaster, Bavington-Allen made threats to his parents, accusing them of being “snitches.” He pleaded guilty to multiple offences, including threats to kill, possession of a bladed weapon, animal cruelty, and attempting to administer a harmful substance.
In sentencing, he received a 42-month prison term in a young offenders institution.
The court also imposed a five-year ban from approaching within 100 metres of his family home, a prohibition on any contact with his mother, and a five-year ban on keeping animals.
