JAIL FOR MAN WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED TEENAGER ON TRAIN
A man who sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman on a train after subjecting her to inappropriate remarks has received a prison sentence following an investigation by the British Transport Police (BTP).Adrian White, aged 47 and residing on Sandringham Road in London, admitted to one count of Sexual Assault and was sentenced to eight months in prison at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 26 May.
Additionally, White was mandated to register as a sex offender for a period of 10 years.
The court proceedings revealed that on 27 June last year, the victim was travelling with friends on a train traveling from Birmingham New Street to London Euston.
White boarded the same carriage and began engaging them in unwanted conversation, then directed inappropriate comments specifically at the woman.
When the woman rose to leave the train at Coventry, White sexually assaulted her.
The victims immediately reported the incident to railway staff, who then ejected White from the train.
He was later detained by BTP officers, who charged him with sexual assault based on their investigation.
