ADRIAN WHITE SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN HANDFORTH

A man named Adrian White, residing in Handforth, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of sexually assaulting a young girl, an act that has shocked the local community and prompted a strong response from law enforcement authorities.

White, aged 60, was handed an 11-year prison sentence, with an additional year on extended licence, following his conviction on multiple charges. The charges included one count of sexual assault by penetration and at least two other sexual assault offences. These convictions stemmed from a seven-day trial held in October 2024 at Chester Crown Court, where the evidence against him was thoroughly examined.

The case came to light in June 2023 when Cheshire Police were alerted to concerns raised about the girl. The young victim, despite her tender age, demonstrated remarkable bravery by disclosing details that indicated she had been sexually assaulted. Her disclosures included the name of her attacker, which played a crucial role in the subsequent investigation.

Following her disclosures, officers swiftly arrested White on June 2, 2023. An extensive investigation was carried out, leading to his formal charges. The police confirmed that White was responsible for the offences, and his conviction was secured through the evidence presented during the trial.

In addition to his prison sentence, White will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to restrict his activities and prevent further offences. He is also required to register as a sex offender and adhere to the conditions of a restraining order, ensuring ongoing restrictions on his contact with vulnerable individuals.

Detective Constable Alison Shields expressed her thoughts on the case, stating, “I am grateful for the sentence handed to White, who will now spend a considerable amount of time behind bars reflecting on the severity of what he has done.” She emphasized the gravity of the crimes committed, describing them as “horrific acts against an incredibly young, innocent child, who did not deserve to be subjected to such trauma.”

Shields also praised the victim’s bravery, noting, “Despite her young age, she was able to summon the courage to tell officers what had happened to her in a video interview, demonstrating levels of bravery beyond her years.”

She further highlighted that it was thanks to the girl’s disclosures that law enforcement was able to gather sufficient evidence to charge White. Despite his initial denial, the strength of the evidence led to his conviction. White is now behind bars, where he cannot harm anyone else or commit further offences, bringing a measure of justice to the case.
