ADRIAN LEEDS FROM CYNCOED AND CARDIFF SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Cardiff and Cyncoed, Adrian Leeds, a 44-year-old man, was convicted of multiple serious sexual offences involving a young girl and the possession of indecent images of children. Leeds, who resided in Cyncoed, was sentenced to a total of 36 weeks in prison, with the first 18 months to be served behind bars and an additional 18 months on licence following his release. The criminal proceedings revealed that Leeds had engaged in the sexual abuse of a female child under the age of 13. The charges also included the making and possession of indecent images of children, which were classified as Level Three, indicating non-penetrative sexual activity involving minors. Furthermore, Leeds was found guilty of possessing and creating extreme pornography, including images depicting humans engaging in sexual acts with animals, a crime that underscores the disturbing nature of his offenses.
Leeds’s background was described during the court proceedings as that of a respected businessman involved in construction and civil engineering projects within the Cardiff area. Despite his professional reputation, the court was told that behind this facade, Leeds harbored disturbing fantasies about young girls. His defense team attempted to portray him as someone who had turned to religion after his arrest, but no genuine remorse was evident during the court hearing.
The investigation into Leeds’s activities was initiated after an anonymous message was received through a Facebook page, which prompted the authorities to act swiftly. The police responded promptly, gathering evidence and seizing Leeds’s computers. During the investigation, digital evidence was uncovered, including video footage and indecent images, which led to his confession.
Leeds’s arrest was a result of the police’s quick response to the tip-off, and he was subsequently charged with four counts of sexual abuse of a minor, seven counts of making and possessing indecent images of children, and additional charges related to extreme pornography and bestiality images. As part of his sentence, Leeds was ordered to register as a sex offender for life, a measure that aims to monitor and restrict his activities moving forward.
Additionally, Leeds was issued an exclusion order that prevents him from entering the Gwent area, further restricting his movements and access to certain regions. He was released from custody after serving his initial sentence, but the exclusion order remains in effect, emphasizing the serious nature of his crimes and the ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable individuals in the community.
