DONCASTER MAN JAILED FOR 19 YEARS FOR MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENCES
A man from Doncaster has received a prison sentence after being convicted of multiple sexual offences, including the rape of a minor, following a courageous disclosure by the victim.A jury was informed that between September 2021 and July 2022, Adrian Chambers engaged in sexual assaults against the same individual on numerous occasions.
During these assaults, he use of offers like chocolate and access to his mobile phone as means of coercion, while committing severe abuse.
The victim’s brave decision to come forward and reveal the abuse led to multiple charges being brought against Chambers.
He was convicted on seven counts in total, which included two counts of raping a child under the age of 13, three counts of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activities, and two counts of child assault under the age of 13.
These findings followed a trial at Sheffield Crown Court that concluded on 11 April.
Detective Constable Jessica Clark, who oversaw the investigation, stated: "The victim has demonstrated incredible courage throughout this process, detailing the horrific abuse they endured." "No child should ever experience this.
While this sentence cannot undo the harm caused by Chambers, I hope it offers some sense of justice to the victim, knowing he has faced the consequences and will serve a significant prison term." In February 2024, Chambers also admitted guilt to three counts of creating indecent images and possessing illegal images of children.
The 57-year-old from Newlands Close, Doncaster, was sentenced to 19 years in prison on Thursday, September 11, at Sheffield Crown Court.
