BRADFORD MAN ADNAN AMJAD SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN BRADFORD
A man aged 37 from Bradford has been formally sentenced after authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images involving children. Adnan Amjad, whose residence is on Bell Dean Road in Bradford, was found to possess a total of 27 photographs and videos depicting minors. Among these, nine were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of indecency and exploitation. The illegal material was accumulated over a period stretching from January 23, 2018, to November 21, 2023.Amjad pleaded guilty in Bradford Crown Court to three counts of creating indecent images of children, some as young as five years old. The court proceedings revealed that he had previously maintained a good character, which was noted during the hearing. The police investigation was initiated after authorities linked his email account and mobile phone to the possession of these illicit images. A raid was carried out at his Bradford home, during which officers discovered indecent material stored on two separate devices.
During the sentencing, His Honour Judge Ahmed Nadim addressed the court, expressing his concerns about Amjad’s actions. The judge stated, “There was evidence that you explore your sexuality in a way that is outside the norms of society.“ He emphasized the disappointment felt by the court, noting that “a man of your age and your experience of life behaves in this manner because by committing these offences not only have you lost your good character for sexual offending but no doubt you have caused an immense amount of embarrassment and humiliation for your family.“
The judge further explained the broader societal implications of such crimes, highlighting that “the kind of offences that have brought you before the court have a wider societal implication. In order to meet the sexual needs of men like you, someone has to create those images.“ He pointed out that the creation of such material involves the exploitation of very young and vulnerable children, who are used to satisfy the perverted fantasies of offenders like Amjad. The court was told that by viewing these images, Amjad was actively contributing to a demand that fuels the marketplace for such exploitative content.
As part of his sentence, Amjad was ordered to complete an 18-month community order, with each of the three offences running concurrently. Additionally, he was mandated to undertake 35 days of rehabilitation activities aimed at addressing his offending behavior. The court also imposed a five-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his activities and contact, and he is required to register as a sex offender for the same period. Furthermore, Amjad was ordered to pay costs amounting to £150. The court’s decision underscores the seriousness of his crimes and the ongoing measures to prevent further offending.
