A man responsible for trying to sexually assault a minor and possessing nearly 1,000 indecent images has been sentenced to prison.
It was uncovered that Adam Khan had been participating in online interactions aimed at finding a child for sexual abuse.
Specialist officers from the Force Priorities Team traced evidence that Khan was set to meet an individual who he believed could arranged for such an act.
This planned meeting was stopped by police, leading to Khan's arrest in Great Barr last July.
During the search, devices belonging to Khan yielded almost 1,000 child abuse images and videos, and evidence of image sharing was also found.
Khan admitted to charges including the orchestration of a child under 13's sexual rape and the act of distributing indecent images, both committed between June and July of the previous year.
He, aged 30 and from Great Barr, received a nine-year and six-month sentence at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday, 18 March.
