DONCASTER MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE CHILD SEXUAL PREDATION
An online sex offender has been sentenced to prison after being caught by police engaging in sexual conversations with decoy profiles of minors online.
Sheffield Crown Court heard that Adam Heeps, aged 33, of Alexandra Road, Balby, Doncaster, attempted to incite a child into sexual acts and viewed indecent images of children.
During the investigation, Heeps was found with category B indecent images, a prohibited image, and extreme pornographic images.
He engaged in discussions with profiles pretending to be 12-year-old girls, requesting photos, sharing videos of sexual acts, and discussing penetrative and oral sex.
The police raided his home and seized electronic devices containing illegal content.
He pleaded guilty to attempting to incite a child into a sexual act, attempting to cause a child to watch a sex act, making an indecent photo of a child, and possessing prohibited and extreme images.
Judge Gavin Doig sentenced Heeps to two years and eight months in custody, ordered him to register as a sex offender for life, and imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He has no previous convictions and expressed deep shame for his actions.
