ADAM CHAPMAN FROM ISLEWORTH CAUGHT GROOMING WIGAN SCHOOLGIRL AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTING HER

In a case that has shocked the local community, Adam Chapman, a 25-year-old man from Isleworth, has admitted to engaging in the grooming and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl from Wigan. The disturbing revelations emerged during a court hearing following a police investigation that uncovered a pattern of predatory behavior and illegal activity involving Chapman.

According to court records, the investigation was initiated when police executed a search warrant at Chapman’s family residence in Isleworth, specifically targeting his father, Dennis Chapman. During the raid, officers discovered that Dennis Chapman had downloaded hundreds of indecent images of children, a fact that added gravity to the case. More significantly, evidence was uncovered indicating that Adam Chapman had been actively grooming a young girl from Wigan through online chatrooms for over a year.

Prosecutor Peter Zinner detailed the case during the proceedings at Southwark Crown Court, revealing that Chapman first initiated contact with the girl when she was only 13 years old. The court was told that Chapman engaged in explicit sexual messaging with her, including a disturbing message where he expressed a desire to be in bed with her. Over time, their online communication escalated, and Chapman admitted to meeting the girl in person on at least three occasions. These meetings included a night spent together in a hotel near Euston, where they engaged in sexual activity.

The court heard that the relationship between Chapman and the girl was characterized by a mixture of emotional attachment and physical encounters. On one occasion, they met in a park in Liverpool for a hug, and on another, they engaged in what was described as low-level sexual contact in Wigan. In July 2007, Chapman traveled from Isleworth to Wigan to pick up the girl from her home and took her to a London hotel, where they spent the night together and continued their sexual activities. The relationship appeared to have ended by the end of 2007, after the girl began seeing other boys.

Judge Nicholas Lorraine-Smith, presiding over the case, sentenced Chapman to a 12-month jail term, suspended for two years. The judge explained that, although the sentence was lenient, it was a reflection of the unusual circumstances of the case. He acknowledged that Chapman’s actions were serious, involving the grooming of a vulnerable young girl and engaging in sexual activity with her, but also noted that Chapman did not fit the typical profile of a predatory adult. The judge emphasized that Chapman’s feelings for the girl seemed to be driven by immature infatuation rather than predatory intent.

During the hearing, Chapman, who works as a shop worker, was visibly emotional, weeping throughout the proceedings. The court also ordered him to undergo two years of supervision, attend sex therapy sessions, and register as a sex offender for the next decade. Additionally, Chapman was banned from working with children indefinitely. Despite admitting to meeting the girl following sexual grooming and engaging in sexual activity, he denied downloading over 3,700 indecent images of children, a charge that was allowed to remain on file.

Chapman’s case has raised serious concerns about online safety and the exploitation of minors, prompting calls for increased vigilance and protective measures for vulnerable young people. The community in Isleworth and Wigan will undoubtedly be watching closely as Chapman begins his period of supervision and therapy, hoping that justice has been served and that steps are taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
