AFGHAN MIGRANT CONVICTED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AFTER WOMAN FELL ASLEEP POST-PIZZA

A migrant, Afghan Abid Sherzad, 25, has been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman who fell asleep after they shared pizza.

The victim, in her 20s, told a court that she woke up to find Sherzad touching her intimately and stated, “I didn’t give him any impression that I was consenting whatsoever.” He was filmed trying to hide his face with a pizza box by a passer-by.

Sherzad arrived in the UK nine months before the attack and was arrested at a taxpayer-funded hotel in Oxford in October.

He was found guilty of sexual assault at Croydon magistrates’ court and is in custody awaiting sentencing at Inner London Crown Court.

Sherzad claimed his life was at risk in Afghanistan because his father worked for the government.
