Aaron Johnson, aged 24, received a five-year prison sentence after being convicted of attacking a woman in Orkney during February 2021.
Johnson had previously been found guilty of rape at the High Court in Inverness earlier in the year, and his sentencing took place at the High Court in Glasgow on Tuesday.
In addition to the custodial sentence, he will be subject to two years of supervised release following his prison term.
