FORMER CUB SCOUT LEADER JAILED FOR HISTORICAL SEXUAL ABUSE
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community, Aaron Blake, a man with a troubling history of sexual offenses, has been convicted and sentenced for new allegations involving the abuse of young boys.Blake, who resides in Southend-on-Sea, has a long and troubling criminal record that dates back decades.
Back in 1996, Blake was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of indecent assault on a 12-year-old boy.
His criminal behaviour did not end there; in 2011, he was convicted again for producing indecent photographs of children, further highlighting his pattern of predatory conduct.
Despite these convictions, Blake continued to harbour inappropriate intentions towards children.
In November 2018, he openly expressed a desire to serve as Father Christmas in local schools, a statement that raised immediate concerns given his criminal background.
Someone who was aware of Blake’s previous convictions reported his comments to the authorities, prompting police to intervene.
Following the report, law enforcement officers arrested Blake, which subsequently led to the identification of two additional victims.
All three victims were boys aged between seven and twelve at the time of the offenses, which occurred in the Chorley area.
The details of the abuse are deeply troubling and have caused significant distress to the victims and their families.
During his trial at Preston Crown Court, Blake initially maintained his innocence but later changed his plea on the second day of proceedings.
He admitted to one count of indecency and three counts of indecent assault, relating to the three young victims.
The court heard the full extent of his misconduct, which further underscored the severity of his actions.
On Monday, September 27, Blake was sentenced to a prison term of five years and two months.
In addition to his incarceration, the court imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, aimed at preventing him from posing any further risk to children.
