ZBIGNIEW KADLUBOWSKI FROM TARLETON INVOLVED IN CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND THEFT AT SOUTHPORT SCHOOL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Tarleton and the surrounding areas near Southport, a primary school volunteer named Zbigniew Kadlubowski has been found guilty of possessing and creating obscene images involving children. The incident came to light after police conducted a raid on his residence in Lancashire, uncovering a disturbing collection of illicit material and evidence of theft. On a routine investigation into the possession of indecent images, law enforcement officers arrived at Kadlubowski’s home in Hesketh Lane, Tarleton. The police had been alerted to suspicions that he was downloading inappropriate images of minors. When they entered his residence, they found the environment to be notably untidy, with various items scattered around his bedroom. Among the items seized were a child's doll and girl’s clothing, including underwear, which Kadlubowski had purchased online. These items raised immediate concern given their context and the nature of the investigation.
Further examination of Kadlubowski’s computer revealed a staggering collection of illegal material. Prosecutor Harry Pepper disclosed that the device contained a total of 5,841 pornographic images depicting children aged between five and thirteen. These images spanned a range of categories, including some of an extreme nature, with 85 images classified as extreme pornographic content involving minors. This extensive collection underscored the severity of the case and the level of premeditation involved.
When questioned by authorities, the 32-year-old Polish national admitted to downloading these images. He also confessed to wearing children’s clothing for sexual gratification, a behavior he claimed had been ongoing for approximately three years. Kadlubowski’s admissions included details of his sexual interests and activities, which he acknowledged as deeply troubling.
In addition to the possession and creation of indecent images, Kadlubowski pleaded guilty to stealing four pairs of shorts from Becconsall All Saints C of E Primary School, where he had been volunteering for three years, assisting children with their lessons. The theft was uncovered during the investigation, adding another layer to his criminal record.
His arrest took place on February 11 of this year, coinciding with the police raid at the school in Hesketh Bank, near Southport. The police apprehended him at the school premises, where he was working as a volunteer. The case was brought before Liverpool Crown Court, where Judge Clement Goldstone, QC, the Recorder of Liverpool, presided over the sentencing.
During the hearing, Judge Goldstone described the case as a tragic example of “sexual perversion,” emphasizing the gravity of Kadlubowski’s actions. The court sentenced him to a three-year community order, which includes mandatory attendance at the Northumbria Sex Offenders Programme. The judge issued a stern warning that any breach of these conditions would result in imprisonment.
Furthermore, Kadlubowski was subjected to restrictions on his computer and internet use, and he was banned from working with children. As part of his sentence, he was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for a period of five years. The court’s decision reflects the serious concern over his potential risk to the community and the need for ongoing monitoring.
Defence solicitor Simon Christie provided some background on Kadlubowski, stating that he was well-educated in Warsaw as an electoral mechanical engineer. Since moving to England eight years ago, he had led a relatively isolated life. Christie described him as a hard worker, having been employed as a cleaner, and noted that his relationships with women had not been lasting. He acknowledged that Kadlubowski had admitted to his misconduct and recognized the need for professional help to address his issues.
