28-year-old Zachary Cooper from Berry Road, Newquay, pleaded guilty to violating a sexual harm prevention order by not notifying the authorities within the required three days after acquiring a tablet capable of connecting to Wi-Fi.
He also used Snapchat, which does not retain internet browsing history, and took measures to cover his tracks by deleting internet data from his phone and using a cleaner application to erase his software.
Furthermore, Cooper admitted to failing to comply with the registration requirements for sex offenders by not informing police of two online banking accounts he had created.
He has been remanded in custody and is set to be sentenced at Truro Crown Court on 28 October.
