A man convicted of murdering his former girlfriend during her date with another man has been sentenced to life imprisonment following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
Halyna Hoisan, aged 29, had fled from her abusive partner in April 2025, relocating and obtaining a non-molestation order to protect herself.
Despite this, Yurii Muzyka, who was 33 at the time, engaged in a prolonged campaign of stalking and harassment against her.
Evidence revealed that Halyna发现ed a tracking device in their four-year-old daughter's scooter.
Muzyka’s obsession grew after she started a new relationship, leading him to break into her flat armed with a knife and chisel upon discovering she was with another man.
On Wednesday, 27 August, he stabbed Halyna six times, causing her death at the scene.
During the incident, he recorded a selfie video beside her as she lay dying.
Muzyka, now 34 (born 23 March 1992), from Burlington Road, New Malden, was found guilty of murder and weapon possession on Friday, 22 May.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday, 29 May, with a minimum term of 30 years to be served.
