Liverpool Man Charged with Rape and Sexual Assault to Appear in Court

A man from Kensington, Liverpool, has been formally charged with serious sexual offences following allegations of attacking a woman at an address in Liverpool early on Monday, June 23. The accused, Yosif Ahmed, aged 25 and residing on Empress Road, faces multiple charges including rape, two counts of attempted rape, and four counts of sexual assault. He was immediately remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before Liverpool Magistrates Court on June 25. Detective Inspector Jamie Heston from the Unity team emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing but assured victims that their reports are taken seriously and handled by specially trained officers and advocates. He stated that investigating sexual violence against women and girls is a top priority for Merseyside Police, who collaborate closely with the Crown Prosecution Service. Victims or anyone with relevant information are urged to call 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111. Support services are available for victims, including confidential examinations and counseling, which can be accessed without police involvement. Merseyside Police also launched initiatives to combat violence against women and girls, aiming to improve safety in the region.
