WILLIAM WRIGHT ELDERSLIE MUSIC TEACHER JAILED FOR SECOND TIME IN SCANDAL INVOLVING SCHOOLGIRLS
In a disturbing case that has once again cast a shadow over the quiet community of Elderslie, William Wright, an 80-year-old former music teacher, has been convicted of multiple counts of sexual abuse against young female pupils.This marks his second conviction related to such heinous acts, with the first stemming from incidents that occurred decades ago.
Wright, who previously served a four-year sentence for molesting two girls during the 1970s and early 1980s, faced a new trial at Paisley Sheriff Court.
The court heard that he admitted to sexually assaulting two additional pupils at an East Renfrewshire school where he was employed during the period from 1985 to 1990.
The allegations are particularly disturbing given the time span and the repeated nature of his offenses.
One of the victims, a woman now aged 46 and a mother of one, bravely testified against Wright.
