RANKINSTON MAN ORDERED TO PERFORM UNPAID WORK AFTER TEXTING EX DESPITE COURT ORDER
A man from Rankinston has appeared in court for sending his ex numerous text messages despite being ordered not to contact her.William Wilson, 45, admitted to the court that he sent these messages between July 4 and July 5 last year.
The court heard that Wilson was released on bail on June 13, 2016, with a condition forbidding him from approaching or contacting his ex partner in any way.
According to the prosecution, on July 4, Wilson contacted the woman at her home address.
She called his ex-wife, who indicated that Wilson frequently did this but did not intend to take further action.
On July 5, Wilson said he wanted to send her a keepsake, specifically a ring, and messaged her at 4 pm saying he had posted it but asked her not to call the police.
The woman inquired about the item and was told it was a ring.
Later, Wilson was seen up in the hills, reportedly saying goodbye to her, after which he was reported missing.
He then contacted police on July 8 to say he had returned home.
Officers attended his residence, and Wilson was detained for medical examination and further questioning.
He was subsequently ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work within three months.
