WREXHAM MAN WHO RAPED YOUNG GIRL AND SENT HER SEXUAL MESSAGES IS JAILED
A WREXHAM man has been jailed for raping a young girl.William Davies, 32, of Eldon Grove in Rhostyllen, appeared before Mold Crown Court for sentence on Tuesday, March 10.
On July 25, 2025, he pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault and one count of assaulting a female 13 and over by penetration with a part of his body.
On January 29, 2026, he was convicted of the rape of the young girl following a trial.
Oliver King, prosecuting, told the court that the incidents occurred within a week of one another.
He added that Davies, who was described in court as being 'nothing short of a sex pest', had 'behaved as if nothing had happened' after the offences.
He continued his campaign of abuse by sending her sexual messages and buying her 'inappropriate lingerie' and vapes.
The victim had 'kept quiet for as long as she could' and was threatened by Davies who told her to 'keep her mouth shut' as 'nobody would believe her'.
She eventually bravely told friends and the defendant was confronted about it, but denied all allegations against him, including in his interview with North Wales Police.
In a victim personal statement read out in court, the young girl said that Davies had 'ruined my life'.
She added: 'Me and my family are now broken and hurt, I spend my time shutting myself away and I feel scared for the future.' Dafydd Roberts, defending, said that Davies had experienced an 'adverse childhood' and was someone who suffered from depression.
Judge Rhys Rowlands said that the offences had 'caused significant and ongoing harm' to the victim in this case.
Davies was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the rape offence and will likely serve two-thirds of that sentence, the judge added.
He was made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a Restraining Order for 15 years.
He will also have to register as a sex offender for life.
