CRAVEN ARMS MAN CONVICTED OF INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN AND ANIMALS
A MAN caught with extreme animal pornography has been up before the magistrates.
William Andrews entered a guilty plea to three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving animals when he appeared before magistrates in June.
Prosecutor Kathleen Price told magistrates that the 54-year-old had made 16 category A and six category B indecent images of a child in Craven Arms on June 1, 2021, and 18 category C images on May 21, 2022.
He had also been in possession of two extreme pornographic images involving a dog and a cow in Craven Arms on June 1, magistrates in Telford were told.
Magistrates said that the offences were so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified due to the extreme nature of the images.
Andrews, of Marshgate, Tugford, Craven Arms, was handed an eight-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months and added to the sex offenders' register for 10 years.
He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his use of electronic devices and the internet.
He must pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £187 victim surcharge.
