WAYNE MATHURA SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN MAESTEG AND EAST PRESTON
In a recent court ruling, Wayne Mathura, a man from Maesteg, has been handed down a severe prison sentence following his conviction for multiple sexual offenses involving young girls.The case was heard at Hove Crown Court, where Mathura, aged 52 and residing on Roundstone Crescent in East Preston, was found guilty of a series of heinous crimes committed over a span of several years.
Mathura was convicted on September 28 of 13 separate counts, which included rape and sexual assault.
These offenses were carried out between the years 2007 and 2009 and involved three girls whose ages ranged from 13 to 17 at the time of the assaults.
It was established during the trial that all three victims were known to him, adding a disturbing layer of betrayal and breach of trust.
Following his conviction, the court sentenced Mathura to a total of 18 years in prison.
The sentence is structured so that he will serve the first 13 years behind bars, with the remaining five years to be spent under extended prison release license supervision.
This means that even after his release, he will be subject to strict monitoring and restrictions to prevent any further offenses.
In addition to his prison sentence, Mathura will be registered as a sex offender for life, a measure designed to ensure ongoing public safety and to facilitate monitoring of his activities post-release.
