NORFOLK MAN JAILED FOR NINE YEARS FOR RAPING 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL AT BUS STOP
Vincent Oladukun received a nine-year prison sentence after being convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl he encountered upon exiting a taxi in Filby, near Great Yarmouth. The assault took place in the early hours of August 2 last year, when Oladukun, who was intoxicated, approached the girl and inquired about her age.
The girl claimed she was 16, but it was later established that she was only 12.
Court proceedings revealed that Oladukun gave the girl vodka during their walk to a bus stop, and he asked invasive questions about her genital area, which she answered.
Prosecutor Brian Reece detailed that Oladukun exposed himself and sexually assaulted her orally.
The attack lasted from approximately 30 seconds to a few minutes before the pair moved to a nearby closed pub.
Afterwards, the girl escaped and reported the assault.
Oladukun was later detained in Great Yarmouth, and his trial in January saw him deny the charge of raping a child under 13.
During sentencing, he shouted accusations such as 'it's a farce,' 'lies,' 'it's not justice,' and 'disgusting.' He also admitted to possessing cannabis, spitting at a healthcare worker while resisting arrest, damaging a police cell, and assaulting an officer with cups of coffee, which caused superficial burns.
Additionally, he acknowledged making threatening remarks toward officers.
Judge Alice Robinson characterized the attack as 'opportunistic,' highlighting that Oladukun exploited the girl’s youth and vulnerability.
The court sentenced him to nine years in prison plus an extra year on licence, stressing that his crime was opportunistic and took advantage of her fragile state.
Oladukun, originally from Kent, maintained his innocence throughout, claiming the girls had lied about their ages.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely.
