TREVER NAYLOR FROM RINGWOOD JAILED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN NEW FOREST
In a case that has shocked the local community of Ringwood and the surrounding New Forest area, Trevor Naylor, a 55-year-old resident of Crow Road, Crow, Ringwood, has been sentenced to prison for possessing a large collection of indecent images of children.The incident came to light in October 2013 when police, acting on a tip-off, arrested Naylor at his place of work after they discovered he had been accessing and storing over 4,000 disturbing still photographs and videos depicting child exploitation.
During police interviews, Naylor expressed remorse, stating that he was ashamed and disgusted by his own actions.
Despite his apologies, the court was faced with the serious nature of his offences.
Naylor had previously pleaded guilty before magistrates to 14 charges of making indecent images and four charges of possessing such material, leading to his commitment for sentencing at Southampton Crown Court.
Judge Susan Evans QC delivered a stern sentence, condemning Naylor’s actions and emphasizing the lasting harm inflicted on the victims.
She stated, “This court does not know what became of those children but I am quite sure they will suffer for the rest of their lives.
People like you are the market for this material and it is people like you that are the reason why it happens.
Sending you to prison is a clear message that this sort of thing is disgusting to the public and will not be tolerated.” In addition to his ten-month prison term, Naylor was subjected to a ten-year sexual offences prevention order designed to protect the public from potential reoffending.
He was also placed on the sex offenders register for the same duration and was explicitly banned from working with children, reflecting the serious concern over his potential risk to vulnerable individuals in the community.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and the importance of community vigilance in reporting suspicious activity.
