SIBLE HEDINGHAM SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED FOR BREACHING ORDERS
A man aged 53 from Sible Hedingham has been sentenced to prison for violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
In January, Trevor Day, who resides in Southey Green, erased his internet and chat histories, failed to register an HP laptop, and withheld seven USB devices during police investigations.
Moreover, he downloaded prohibited applications such as Snapchat, Telegram, and Discord, all in contravention of a court order issued in 2020.
Additionally, he made contact with two teenagers—a girl and a boy—and discussed topics including sexual acts, the boy’s sexual experiences, and masturbation.
Day pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor and four counts of breaching the Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
At Chelmsford Crown Court, Circuit Judge Richard Wilkin sentenced him to three years imprisonment.
The judge also imposed a further Sexual Harm Prevention Order, prohibited him from working with children or vulnerable adults, and registered him on the sex offenders register for ten years.
He was ordered to contribute £228 to the victims of crime fund.
