TREVOR CULLINGTON FROM CAMBOURNE SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS FOR ABUSIVE OFFENCES
In February 2014, Trevor Cullington, a cleaner from Lancaster Gate, Upper Cambourne, was sentenced to six years in prison after being convicted of abusing four young girls, one as young as five.Cullington-Norris had a disturbing history, having assaulted victims over several years but managed to avoid justice for nearly four decades.
His offending came to light in 2012 when two victims disclosed their experiences to family members, revealing abuse that occurred in the mid-1990s.
During the investigation led by Detective Constable Natalie Bottom, two additional victims from the 1970s came forward.
Cullington-Norris, aged 59, pleaded guilty at Cambridge Crown Court to eight counts of indecent assault, sexual assault of a girl under 13, and a charge of sexual activity with a child.
The court sentenced him to six years behind bars and imposed a sexual offences prevention order, which prohibits him from being in the same household as a child under 16 and requires him to notify police if he begins a relationship with someone who has children under 16.
Det Con Bottom explained, “Cullington-Norris’s actions have had a lasting effect on all his victims.
They have shown great courage to come forward and assist with the investigation.
He targeted four vulnerable young girls, and the length of the sentence reflects how seriously such offences are taken by the police and courts.”
