Cardiff Child Abuser
A hospital employee has officially admitted to multiple serious sex offences involving minors, raising alarm within the Cardiff community. Tracy Turner, aged 51 and a resident of Roath, Cardiff, worked as an operating theatre assistant at the University Hospital of Wales. His guilty plea encompasses six charges related to arranging the commission of child sex offences, alongside two additional charges for creating indecent images of a child.

Turner's criminal case took a significant turn when he pleaded guilty in court, acknowledging his involvement in these heinous acts. The charges against him stem from a detailed investigation into his conduct, which uncovered disturbing evidence of his attempts to facilitate child sexual abuse. The court proceedings revealed that Turner’s actions were part of a broader pattern of criminal behavior involving minors.

In a related development, Stuart Compton, aged 45 and from Cathays, Cardiff, also entered a guilty plea to six charges of arranging the commission of child sex offences. Both men had previously faced allegations of conspiracy to murder; however, the prosecution informed the court that those charges have now been dropped, effectively ending that aspect of the case.

Despite their guilty pleas on the child sex offence charges, both Turner and Compton maintained their innocence regarding other conspiracy allegations, including conspiring to rape a girl, to sexually assault, and to kidnap. These additional charges have been set aside, and no further action is currently being taken against them on those counts.

Both defendants are currently in custody and are scheduled to be sentenced on the 28th of July. The presiding judge, Tracey Lloyd-Clarke, emphasized the severity of their crimes, warning that a custodial sentence was inevitable given the nature of their offences.

Following the revelations, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board confirmed that Tracy Turner was dismissed from his position at the hospital on 12 March. The health authority also stated that Turner had cooperated fully with police during the investigation, which was crucial in progressing the case and ensuring justice for the victims involved.
