TONY HERRIDGE FROM GRAVESEND FACES TRIAL OVER BRUTAL DOMESTIC ATTACK IN KENT
A 33-year-old man from Gravesend, Tony Herridge, is currently held in custody as he awaits his upcoming trial following allegations of a severe and violent assault against his former partner. The incident, which has drawn significant concern from local authorities and support groups, reportedly resulted in the victim sustaining multiple serious injuries.Herridge, whose residence is on Dickens Road in Gravesend, is charged with three counts of Actual Bodily Harm (ABH) and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour. The legal proceedings are scheduled to commence at the end of July, during which prosecutors plan to present compelling evidence, including an emergency call recording that captured the assault in real-time. This evidence is expected to play a crucial role in the case, highlighting the brutality of the attack.
The victim, whose identity has been protected for her safety, described the assault as relentless and devastating. She reported suffering from broken ribs, burst eardrums, and numerous cuts and bruises across her body. According to her account, Herridge continued the attack even as she desperately called 999 for emergency assistance, showing a disturbing level of violence and disregard for her well-being.
In her statement, the victim warned others about Herridge’s dangerous behaviour, stating, "He will do whatever it takes to destroy you." She emphasized the urgent need for authorities and support organizations to intervene swiftly to prevent further harm. Her concern extends beyond her own experience, as she fears that other women could fall victim to Herridge’s controlling and violent tendencies if no action is taken to raise awareness and prevent future incidents.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed that Herridge remains in custody and will stay detained until his trial begins. Local advocacy groups are actively providing support and guidance to the victim, while also encouraging any other potential victims or witnesses to come forward. Their goal is to ensure justice is served and to promote safety for all individuals who might be at risk from Herridge’s behaviour in Gravesend and the surrounding areas.
