    CYBER SEX OFFENDER TOBY ACTON JAILED IN HONG KONG

    In April 1999, Toby Acton, a 28-year-old British insurance executive, was sentenced to 14 months in jail after engaging in sexual activities with a 13-year-old girl he met through an Internet chat line.

    Acton, who was transferred from Liverpool to Hong Kong in 1997 while working for Griffiths and Armour, used his office computer to exchange suggestive messages with the underage girl. He subsequently invited her to meet him at a hotel in the Wan Chai district, where he hired a room and they had sex.

    Following the revelation of his actions, Acton was dismissed from his well-paid position. He later admitted to having unlawful intercourse with a girl under 16 years old and was sentenced to 14 months in prison.
