Cross Hands Child Sexual Abuser
In a serious case that has shocked the community of Cross Hands, Thomasz Modlinski, a 28-year-old resident of Llandeilo Road, has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of possessing a significant number of indecent images of children. The incident came to light in January 2019, when authorities uncovered his illegal activities involving the download of nearly 1,000 such images from the internet.

Modlinski was charged with three counts of downloading child sexual abuse images. During police interviews, he maintained that the images had appeared on his device unintentionally, claiming they had been a result of accidental viewing while he was browsing other content. Despite his assertions, the evidence presented in court painted a different picture. Judge David Hale pointed out that the nature of the evidence made it clear how these images had come to be stored on his computer.

Investigators discovered that Modlinski had entered explicit search terms, which strongly indicated deliberate intent. The images he possessed were categorized into different severity levels: 294 images in the most serious Category A, 432 in Category B, and 260 in Category C. The court was also informed that some of the images included entire films, highlighting the disturbing extent of his collection.

Following the evidence, Swansea Crown Court sentenced Modlinski to eight months in prison. Additionally, he was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which restricts his access to the internet to prevent further offenses. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender with the police and was required to pay a court surcharge of Β£140.

Judge Hale addressed Modlinski directly, emphasizing his apparent denial of the seriousness of his actions. The judge stated, β€œHe denied during interviews that he gathered sexual pleasure from the images. But given the search terms it cannot be right that they arrived onto his computer by accident. There is not a hint that a course would be of help to him.” The case underscores the importance of vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of illegal images involving minors.
